JOEL'S HEAD is the beginning of the creation of Joel Voyeur as a 3D modeled character. Before starting this project I did some explorations in animating a pre-modeled head, blend shapes, and building from a photograph. At this time, I consider this a first draft of the final full body of Joel.

Even though I built it from a photograph, there are things that were difficult to translate from 2D to 3D. Now that it is built I can clearly see where it needs more sculpting. As far as the animated speech goes, I had some technical difficulties and the key frames on the blend shapes were compromised. After further research, I discovered how to avoid this for future blend shape animation. |

Special Techniques |
The texture was created from a real photograph, as well as building the model. The image, however, had to be altered to line up with the 3D modeled head. |
